Something About Us

 Hi......Looking for recovery?

We got some recovery here at:

812 W. Chestnut Ave.

in Arkansas City , KS .

Our door is always open, at least 10 times a week.  We began this group in August of 1983, so we been around awhile.  Our group has had several addresses over the years, but we are at a permanent address and have been since 1996. We are members of the Plains Area and Ok Region of Narcotic Anonymous, and have been for about 15 years. We are about recovery from a deadly and fatal disease called addiction. Our primary purpose is to carry the message to the addict who still suffers and the message is:  "An addict, any addict, can stop using drugs, lose the desire to use, and find a new way to live."  (pg. 63, Basic Text, second edition). We hope you will come visit if you believe you have this kind of problem, we can help.  We understand. We will love you till you can love yourself.  We have fun in recovery.  Our group sponsors three events during the year, a St. Patrick's Day dance in March, a Freedom from Active Addiction 4th of July party in July, and our own celebration of recovery as a group in August, with an overnight campout.  We encourage meeting attendance, working the Twelve Steps, and sponsorship in our group and you are never any farther away from recovery than you want to be with us, someone is always available to the newcomers and more experienced addicts alike.  If you think you might want to be a part of this way of life, come join us.....come for the fellowship, stay for the recovery!
